Contrivance (2009) Pt.1
So this is my most recent work, a series I developed over the late summer of 2009 until about November of that year. All of this work was part of my senior graduating show. Mostly I'm focusing on creating tensions between these found objects and maybe an idea of motion. Skewing the viewer's sense of perspective is one thing in particular that I had in mind, changing around roles of creatures and one's expectations. Lighting was a fairly important aspect throughout it and was probably one of my favorite things to work with. Although macroscopic perspectives are always exciting.

Hello World.
My name is Jay, I just graduated from that cozy little liberal arts university known as UNC-Asheville with a BA in Art. Thus I now have lots of time on my unemployed hands and this is my feeble attempt at creating a place to post
1) my art and ideas
2)things I find relevant to my life
3)whatever else may come
I say that apprehensively because there is that oft quoted statement that most blogs/webcomics/what-have-you don't make it past 30(?) posts. By my own observations it's more like 2.
So let's get the ball rolling.
