So one of the great things about the place we're staying is that it's directly across the street from Prospect Park, which is also connected to the Botanical Gardens and the Brooklyn Art Museum. Additionally, James' friend happens to intern there and gave us an awesome personal tour of the place.
Prospect Park is huge. 580 acres if I recall correctly which makes it only 200 acres or so less than Central Park. What with the weather being so cooperative lately(seriously it has been about 60+ during the day here) it was a perfect day to head out and check it out.
This is a patio type covering. It looks very precarious and has interesting column details

James entering a tunnel that had righteous reverb. Mega.

Apparently alot of asian couples have very elaborate weddings around this lake

Long Meadow is long

At the end of the park we walked through the farmer's market occurrence and there was the Triumphant Arch commemorating something in the Civil War. Also, just 100 yards behind us is where the tornado from a month or two ago blew through and fucked up alot of trees.

A righteous Poseidon fountain. Alas, no water.

And then onward to the Botanical Gardens.
Cherry Trees

The Japanese Garden is really serene. I dig the rock formations.
Lots of people with cameras.

A Shinto Shrine

The greenhouses. This is actually a picture of an events area but I dig the arches and stuff.

Stuff in the ponds. All the agaves and lilies were kind of ragged due to the hail that came with the tornado.

Into the greenhouses

It is estimated to have been around 800 years old.

And here's an article by the BBG

This is a couple that was involved in a photoshoot or something that I kept walking through. Someone was persistently going "!BOOOOOoooo!....!BOOOoooo!"
